Welcome to the cigar page. Every week or two I will review a cigar that I liked enough to name it cigar of the week. If you have any suggestions or comments, please send me an e-mail using the link at the bottom of the page. |

Opus X These Cigars are undoubtedly one of the most sought after & hardest to get cigars in the world. They are made on a very limited scale and the maker cannot keep up with the demand. Back in 1995, Fuente and Fuente sought to create a blend of tobacco so perfect and special it would put an end to the notion that cuban tobacco was the universal end-all to cigar lovers wishes. The introduction of Opus X in 1995 was landmark and a milestone in the development of domincan cigar offerings - over the past few years the Opus X has firmly planted its feet atop the entire cigar world - way ahead of most cubans. The Fuente Fuente Opus X Double Corona I was able to enjoy was compliments of Tom Grella Jr. and aged to perfection since January 2003. This cigar is superbly crafted with serious flavor and the amazingly the uncanny smoothness that geos with the opus x blend. The depth and complexity of the smoke is what amazes me. Once again this litte power house opens up as you smoke - and despite being tightly rolled, the draw and burn are nearly perfect. I've always been a fan a shaped cigars. lately they're almost all ive smoked, because they are so many quality offerings accross the board (from nicaragua to honduran to domincan and so on). OPus x is the continuation of the painstaking efforts to maintain the utmost patience and quality - what made great cubans of the past so great. Opus x is released very sparingly and therefore I highly recomend buying as much as you can afford regardless off the price - Opus tobaccco is hard to find and goes very quickly. They age very well and I have a range over varying X cigars some of which have been marinating in my humidor for close to a year. Good luck and happy hunting- you will not be dissapointed with the Opus X |
